The freaking awesomest
big-budget movie of the year is Batman Begins. It's the least campy action flick I've seen in ages - I thought it was even better than Spiderman. But to make up for all that lack of camp, I came out with a crush on Christian Bale. That said, I couldn't stop thinking that they made up Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) to look exactly like Ned Flanders.

did you hear christian bale's interview with terry gross? he was definitely weird - esp. about his accent - or apparent lack there of.
hells yes! that WAS the awesomest movie i've seen in a while. i was happier with it than i was with star wars:episode 3, which says A LOT about how much i liked it. it's right next to spider-man 1 as my favorite superhero movie (they both capture their characters perfectly). the only odd casting choice was with ms. holmes [né, mrs. cruise]. she seemed out of place in all the grim grittiness.
